Butter and flour the baking pan. Set it aside.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Place the chocolate in a small heavy saucepan and melt the chocolate over low heat. Keep stirring.
Add the chocolate syrup and stir well.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the butter. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
Add the vanilla and stir.
Add the eggs and stir well.
Sift together the sugar, salt and four into a medium mixing bowl.
Add the sifted dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture and stir thoroughly.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake until just cooked, about 25 minutes in a convection oven.
Take the baking pan out of the oven and allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
Cut the brownies into 1-inch squares and transfer to a serving plate.
